372 Days

October 20th (7 days ago) marked the one year anniversary of the River Story kickstarter campaign being successfully funded. When I close my eyes, and let that sink it, it honestly feels like too much. Like my mind/heart/spirit can't quite grasp the weight of it all.

This first book nearing completion, the Airstream trip finished, the final rewards being organized and addressed, and yet what might feel like an ending to some, even after 372 days, still feels like just the beginning to me.

The call is louder than ever before, and I will do what I have always done, and listen.

Marion // River Story

Marion // River Story

We went to summer camp together ages ago. It was just a few months after Thomas and I met and I would sneak him into my dorm room after hours to eat microwave popcorn and make matching friendship bracelets with the girls. Marion was French and taught us how to say all the bad words.

She flew back to Paris once that summer was over, and we kept in touch here and there. Until a month ago, when she showed up on my doorstep.

So much has changed in my world since our summer camp days. Weddings and children and businesses and wrinkles. But there are also things that didn't change at all, and it's those things, the belly laughs and the inappropriate dancing way past our bedtimes, that I'm going to hold onto, forever.
