The Session Guide

What to Wear

I'm going to be super straightforward with you: What you wear to our session is the most important decision you'll make. My signature style of cinematic, poetic, ethereal photography ONLY works with light, flowy dresses and skirts.  


My purpose as an artist is to capture your beautiful, bright spirit, not create a catalog photo for clothing. There are a million photographers out there who love shooting outfits rather than people. I am not one of them. YOUR HEART deserves to SHINE!  


When choosing your outfit, make sure it meets all of these criteria:


  1. The color is white, cream, or a very pastel shade. No dark denim or dark colors of any kind.
  2. The bottom half of your outfit is long, flowy, and moves. This can be a skirt or a dress.
  3. No patterns, stripes, or polka dots. Again, we want the eye to go straight to YOU, not your clothes.


You are welcome to bring a second outfit. This can be another dress/skirt option or something casual.


For your casual look, make sure it meets all of these criteria:


  1. If bottoms are denim, keep the colors light. Dark or medium denim is not the way to go.
  2. Make sure your top is white, cream, or a very pastel color. No patterns, stripes, or polka dots.

My purpose as an artist is to capture your beautiful, bright spirit, not create a catalog photo for clothing. There are a million photographers out there who love shooting outfits and even define their entire brand around fashion brands, rather than people. I am not one of them. God gave me a gift of capturing the hearts and souls of the beautiful, incredible people in front of my camera.


When choosing your outfit, make sure it meets all of these criteria:


  1. A solid color of white, cream, or a very pastel shade. No dark denim or dark colors of any kind.
  2. The bottom half of your outfit is long, flowy, and moves. This can be a skirt or a dress.
  3. No contrasting patterns, stripes, or polka dots. Again, we want the eye to go straight to YOU, not your clothes.

  1. If bottoms are denim, keep the colors light. Dark or medium denim makes the image feel heavy and weighed down. We don't want that!
  2. Make sure your top is white, cream, or a very pastel color. No patterns, stripes, or polka dots.

FAQ

What is a senior rep team?

Every photographer does their senior rep program a little bit differently. Mine is a super small group of girls who I've selected to be my brand reps. We go on fun, free, photography adventures (parents are always invited!) and in return I just ask that you share the images on social media and tag me in them.

 

Where do the photo sessions take place?

I live in Smithville, Texas and have a lot of favorite spots in this area. I love The Hyatt Lost Pines, Bastrop State Park, Buescher State Park, and the beautiful river right by my house. I also love Pedernales Falls, even though that's a bit of a drive. The sunsets there are unreal!

 

What do they wear? Do you help with styling?

 

One reason I keep my group so super small is that I really care about each girl feeling her absolute best. Having been a photographer for so long, I truly know what looks great in photos and what can be unflattering, and I will make sure everyone looks and feels beautiful. I also have the most fantastic hair, tan, and makeup professionals to recommend!

 

How do we sign up?

Once we've both decided it's a good fit, I will email you, and your parent/guardian a contract. Once that's all signed, you are part of the group and ready to go!
