Why I do What I do.

I got a call this afternoon that went something like this, “Hello, Michelle. My name is (blank) and I am calling because you recently took pictures at a wedding I attended. One of the images you posted on the wedding website was of a good friend of mine. She was in a car accident this weekend and has no brain activity. Her parents really want that picture you took. They say there is something about your image that captured her spirit, something that makes it different and special.”
I am not a photographer because I love fancy cameras, or technical jargon, or even because I have bills to pay. I am a photographer because I know that each of us has a brilliant and blindingly beautiful spark inside, and to capture that is nothing less than a miracle and a profound honor.
(say a little prayer)

update: so sad to say that she has passed away… sending love to her family and friends <3
