Ohm Mama Bear | Michelle Gardella Photography

We have this huge old tree by our house. every day, my Father visits with Lily and takes her to the tree and together they talk to a Mother Bear whose face appears on the bumps and shadings of the bark. Yesterday, Lily and I went to the tree (I wanted to capture the face of the bear) but she told me, “Bear’s belly. Bear’s belly.” And then this happened. When I was looking through the images this morning, I was humbled by what I saw. My flower-child, earth worm, lightning bug spirit, loving on, what appears to be, the pregnant womb of Mother Earth. I cannot help but feel awe, and extreme gratitude for the life of connectedness my family and I lead.
