Wedding photography is changing. In the most beautiful and wonderful and meaningful of ways. Photographers are, more and more, writing on their blogs about their own families and joys and loves. They are stepping outside of the box, putting their beautiful hearts out there, and creating an environment of love, love, love.
You know when you are standing in a super crowded, stuffy room, and it’s all hot and people are being loud and crazy and unaware. You are getting pushed all around and drinks spilled on your favorite shirt and you can’t hear yourself think. And then you spot a door leading out to the back patio. You make your way over, nudging and forcing your way through. And then you finally step outside. And you are alone out there. And it’s quiet and clean, cool, crisp air fills your lungs down to your toes. This open air is so invigorating, so healing, so centering.
That is what the ‘new’ wave of wedding photography feels like. EXCEPT I am no longer alone on that back patio. More and more people are coming out to check out the stars and the open, fresh air. And I have to say, it’s about time.
