Losing Power!
I know this might sound super strange at first glance, but when making my mental gratitude list this morning, I realized that so much wonderfulness came from Irene.
Negative: We lost power for days.
Positives: Cooking tea over an open fire in the backyard; Fun shadow puppets on the ceiling with little hands and big flashlights; going for walks at night and being able to see so many stars; cleaning every single inch of the fridge and freezer; cleaning every single inch of the entire house; hilarious games of afternoon charades; neighborhood backyard bonfires; and my personal favorite- knowing, for once, I am so not the only one on the street who hasn’t showered in a few days.
Glass half full, right?
