Today was extra special. Thomas rode in the annual Tour de Cure fundraiser to raise awareness and funds for diabetes. Watching Thomas not only handle his type-1 each and every day, but embrace it and maintain being an amazing athlete and incredible human being inspires me to my core.
When he crossed that finish line today, I looked down at Braedon holding his big sign and Lily waving her hands with a huge smile on her face shouting, “Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!” and I burst into tears. A big silly mess I was, but I didn’t care. My family and their health means everything to me.
Nobody’s life is perfect. There’s no such thing. But Thomas, and the beautiful children we adore, serve as constant reminders of the tried and true saying,
